The Building Regulations 1997 to 2015 are a comprehensive set of guidelines, covering all aspects of construction. In twelve parts, they cover everything from building structure to building access.
It is a statutory requirement that all buildings constructed or all work carried out to a building since 1992, conform to minimum building standards as set out in the regulations. These regulations are updated regularly. Determining which version of each part applies to your development, is often the first step in understanding your obligations.
Many buildings currently for sale have not been adequately certified as being compliant with the Building Regulations. Similarly, many buildings have not actually been constructed in accordance with them.
ORS provides building regulation compliance checks on all types of buildings. These checks assess the level of compliance and determine the risks associated with a potential sale or purchase of a property. We use detailed building regulation checklists to ensure that all aspects of the regulations are checked.
