environmental impact assessment

An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is the process of examining the anticipated environmental effects of a proposed project on the environment. An EIA is prepared during the design phase of a project to ensure competent authorities consider environmental impacts before permission for the project is granted. If the likely effects are unacceptable, design measures or other relevant mitigation measures can be implemented to reduce or avoid those effects.

ORS provides efficient management of the EIA process, through initial screening, scoping, alternative evaluations and Environmental Impact Statement preparation.
