ORS |Renewable energy takes centre stage

Community groups, business owners and farmers attended the sold out Westmeath Renewable Energy Conference in Mullingar this week.  ORS was delighted to work with Westmeath Community Development on this successful event.

One of the key speakers at the conference, ORS Director Brian Collentine said ‘This was an important educational conference for the community.  There is a strong desire within local business to adopt innovative ways to save energy.’

Mr. Collentine’s colleague and Team Leader of the ORS Energy Team, Claire Cable, said ‘We work closely with community groups across the country, many of whom attended the event.  The conference provided information and best practice models on the latest forms of renewable energy.’  She continued ‘The calibre of speakers and the information that was shared at the conference is extremely valuable to our clients.’

Other topics included the future of energy, bioenergy, solar PV and micro energy from speakers such as Duncan Stewart, Noel Gavigan, Pat Smith and representatives from SEAI.

This project was funded by Westmeath Local Community Development Committee under the Rural Development (LEADER) Programme 2014-2020.
