Fire Safety Certificates
A Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) shows that adequate escape facilities are present in a building. It indicates that the building’s design prevents and limits the spread of fire.
Our team of fire engineers are proactive in liaising with the client and the various design team members to find practical solutions that ensure projects are compliant with the relevant building regulations and design codes.
Specific services include:
- Preparation of preliminary fire safety compliance assessments and technical submissions to accompany planning applications.
- Preparation of technical submissions (fire strategy reports and supporting drawings) to Local Authority Fire Departments under the various fire, health and safety and planning legislation including building control and fire services acts.
- Development of fire engineering design solutions using state-of-the-art software and design from 1st principles for a range of complex design scenarios, including: Fire growth and development, design calculations, design of smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems, including smoke control designs incorporating time to fill analysis and tenability analysis.
The ORS Fire Safety Team is experienced in engaging with the fire authorities across the country and have a demonstrated ability to manage the statutory application process on behalf of clients.
