ORS Consulting Engineers have lodged a planning application for a 1MW Bioenergy Facility for local firm, Bio Agrigas Ltd, on the 25th May. The Bioenergy Facility will treat non hazardous organic feedstock, generate electrical power & heat and will produce an organic fertiliser. The anaerobic digesters are designed to receive 20,000 tonnes / year of energy crops and liquid and solid feedstock sourced locally and primarily from the agricultural industry.

The proposed development comprises of an administration building, a waste reception building, grass/maize silage storage areas, 5 no. prestorage tanks, 2 no. digesters and 2 no. post storage tanks. The planning application included the production of a full Environmental Impact Statement, a Traffic and Transport Impact Assessment, Site Suitability Assessment and architectural and engineering drawings and documentation.
